ABREX®-A is specially designed for simulation of the human fingertip movements on touchscreen products, for example, smart phone, pad, watch and other electronic wear. The common touch, zoom and fast double stroke swiping movements cause imperceptible abrasion on the touchscreen. This unavoidable wear diminishes the functionality of surface coatings.
ABREX®-ABRASION, is a soft-chemo-mechanical fingertip & hand abrasion tester. The simulated wear pattern matches reality with 99% accuracy. It is a highly complex abrasion process which involves:
• A 45° angle impact driven by a dynamic pneumatic cylinder attached with a viscoelastic fingertip under a defined load;
• Then a friction rubbing or tumbling motion between the sample and a textile containing dirt, dandruff, oil, sweat or various types of testing liquids;
Followed by a retraction movement with or without the contact at the surface depending on the application.

ABREX®-A has two modes: standard ABREX® and an additional A mode. Within the standard mode, various tests including touch and zoom motions simulation can be performed. The additional A mode is designed to simulate the swipe movement which occurs often on the touchscreen, either during gaming or other situation.
